This year, prior to the EEO Trust Work & Life Awards gala presentation dinner, the EEO Trust is hosting an HR practitioners workshop where  participants can take time out to learn from experts in the field and share practical examples benefits of supporting diversity at work.

10am: Diversity and flexibility: Let's get real

This interactive workshop is facilitated by Juliet Bourke who uses what she calls "real play" to deliver her training. Two well-known Australian actors, Grant Dodwell and Juliet BourkeBrian Meegan, will play out two workplace scenarios to stimulate conversations about diversity and flexibility. The audience can interact with the characters to probe their motivations and thought processes, or even to tell them to how behave more constructively.

Recruiting in my golden image enacts a debrief between a senior manager and his direct report about a recruitment interview.  The senior manager's comments expose his assumptions about who is the "right fit" for his team.

A culture of (in)flexibility brings to life a chance meeting between two colleagues and their conversation about a colleague who is working flexibly to contrast attitudes to flexibility.

Juliet is well known on both sides of the Tasman and has worked with leading organisations to develop and implement organisational change strategies which promote equity and diversity. Recent key appointments include Chair of the Taskforce on Care Costs, Chair of the Equal Employment Opportunity Network of Australia, President of the NSW EEO Practitioners' Association and member of the Law Society of NSW's Legal Workplace Committee.
