EEO Research

Diversity Survey

Every year the EEO Trust alternates the Diversity Survey with its Work-Life Survey. The Diversity Survey measures how well New Zealand workplaces access and value the talents of the diverse population and how they tap into the creativity, initiative, intelligence and skills of the current labour market. The findings are compiled along with current national and international research findings. This survey has been conducted since 1997, providing valuable benchmarking information.

Who can take part in the Diversity Survey
Any New Zealand workplace can complete the Diversity Survey when it is on-line, usually in May. The next one will take place in 2009. There are different questions for large and small organisations.  Results are published anonymously and participating workplaces' information is benchmarked against the aggregated data.

The latest Diversity Survey

The 2007 EEO Trust Diversity Survey was completed by 364 organisations that together employ 242,813 people. For the first time it explored whether organisations had a workplace culture that supported diversity - the majority said they did. It also identified best practice organisations and found they had lower staff turnover than other organisations.
