Every year the EEO Trust alternates the Work-Life Survey with its Diversity Survey. The Work-Life Survey explores what work-life balance means to employers and how they are encouraging it in their workplaces.
Who can take part in the Work-Life Survey Any New Zealand workplace can complete the Work-Life and Diversity Surveys when they are on-line, usually in May. There are different questions for large and small organisations. Results are published anonymously and participating workplaces' information is benchmarked against the aggregated data.
2008 Work-Life Survey More than 230 members of the EEO Employers Group completed the 2008 Work-Life Survey. They said that they invest in work-life initiatives to improve staff recruitment, retention and engagement. The EEO Trust's analysis shows that the respondents with a work-life strategy or policy have lower staff turnover.
