It's easy to enter, say 2008 entrants
HR Manager Policy at the New Zealand Post Group, Vicki Bazalo: "It worked a treat, sticking to the questions asked, making our responses as succinct as possible and providing supporting documentation as appendices. The template questions allowed us to structure an entry which conveyed the key essence of what we'd done. Having produced the document, it made us reflect and we felt immensely proud - it looked good!"
Vicki says that winning an award brought "great kudos" for the Group. "Our CEO received a letter of congratulations from the Government minister, we received good publicity in several publications and were contacted by professional colleagues.
"Winning the award has helped keep the momentum up. Having won the award, it's more of a given and a commitment that we'll keep up the good work and expand our initiatives further."
Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology also entered the 2008 Awards. HR Manager, Maureen Love: "The process of entering was hugely beneficial. It allowed us to reflect in a very focussed way on what is currently available and how it is being accessed. It also created the opportunity to think more widely about providing opportunities and celebrating what is already being done."
